About ABRSM
A Path to International Recognition
At Siran Music Academy, we proudly prepare students for the prestigious ABRSM exams. With a proven track record, our students consistently achieve top scores, including distinctions and merits. Let us guide you on your path to international success in music.
The ABRSM exam, or the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, is one of the world's leading music assessments. Founded in 1889 and based in London, ABRSM offers graded examinations in piano and other instruments that are recognized in over 90 countries. Each grade builds technical facility, repertoire, musicianship skills, and theory understanding in a structured pathway.
The ABRSM certificate is a globally recognized mark of musical achievement. Students completing Grades 6, 7, and 8 may also receive UCAS tariff points toward university applications in the UK, and the certificate is widely accepted as evidence of musical ability for conservatoire and university auditions worldwide.

Recording Guidance
Recording Your ABRSM Performance Grade
Performance Grades are submitted as a single video recording. Watch the official recording guidance, then review the key requirements before you film.
ABRSM Performance Grades are submitted as a single video recording. The entire programme must be recorded in one continuous, unedited take with no pauses, cuts, or splicing between pieces. Before performing, candidates should introduce themselves by stating their name, instrument, grade, and the titles of their pieces, and any own-choice piece should be identified by showing the opening page of the music.
The camera should remain fixed throughout the recording and clearly show the performer, hands, and instrument (including pedals for piano where possible). A smartphone, tablet, or camera may be used, and a minimum video quality of 720p HD (1080p recommended) with clear, undistorted audio is advised. Good lighting and a quiet environment are essential to ensure the examiner can clearly see and hear the performance. Candidates under 18 must be supervised by a responsible adult, although the candidate may give the introduction themselves. Multiple recording attempts are permitted before submission, but the final video uploaded to ABRSM must be a single, continuous, unedited recording.
